Construction

“What I try to do is the art of building, and the art of building is the art of construction” (Peter Zumthor)

The construction sector is one of the drivers of economic growth in the world. The lack of proper management and lack of financial and human capacities in developing countries have a negative effect on the productivity of this sector.
However, the Afghan construction sector has made positive progresses in the last decade. However, the sector still lacks sustainable concepts and professional management skills.

Therefore, the development of human capacities in this sector provides great opportunities for the establishment of a sustainable construction market.
GTD wants to support the development of sustainable and eco-friendly construction programs which contribute to a self-reliant Afghan construction sector. Considering the existing energy demand of buildings in Afghanistan, GTD supports the promotion of energy efficiency measures for buildings.

GTD’s core competencies are:

Development, design and implementation of energy efficiency programs

Technical assistance to public and private institutions

Promotion of energy efficiency in the construction sector

Monitoring and supervision of construction projects

Provision of TVET trainings for technicians and engineers

Monitoring &Evaluation of construction programs/projects
